Quote of the Week

"Let's not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness."
James Thurber

Tending and Tuning

Creating your "dream life" can get to be confusing at times.  You may have been reading up on all of the "create your own reality" material, and found that it's not about the action you are taking, but it's about your outer life being a reflection of your inner life (thoughts, beliefs, and emotions).  (And if that's true how the heck do I fix my inner life so I can experience a little abundance?)

Or, you may have hit the goal setting textbooks with a vigor, and you are a firm believer that it's ALL about action, and you are certain that money and success doesn't fall out of the sky.  (And if this is true how come when I work my  hardest do I get nothing in return, and then when I least expect it abundance falls into my lap?)

Maybe you have studied both sides of the coin, and you are just confused.  Don't feel bad - it can be confusing.  If success were as black and white as we would like it to be, then we would all be millionaires.  But don't give up it can be sorted out.

People ask me, is it really all about the fact that my "thoughts create reality?"  I say yes.  People ask me, but isn't about the action we take - because we need to take action and work hard to get ahead.  I also say, yes.  I personally don't believe that it's all about sitting back in your easy chair visualizing a better life, nor is it all about taking action.  It's about both.

Finding Balance

1.  Recognize that you need to cultivate your inner life and take action in your outer life.  They two go hand in had.

2.  Be clear on the fact that you are the creator, the owner of your future.  That means you will gain great power in accepting this responsibility and make huge shifts here alone.

3.  Get clear about what you want and ask for it.  (however you do this, prayer, journaling, meditation, or goal setting from you heart)

4.  Tend to your inner life like a garden - literally cultivate your inner life.  Meditate, visualize, be loving to all, be thankful for all of the gifts that you have around you, life joyfully - and look for ways to feel joyful.

5.  Tune in.  Listen to what inspires you.  Inspiration means "spirit coming in"... and guess what?  Take lots and lots of action on that.  Taking inspired action is worth at least one hundred times non-inspired action in terms of creating the life you truly desire.  When you are inspired, you feel good, and when you are feeling good that is your first clue that you are on your path and closer to fulfilling your life purpose.

6.  Tend a bit more to your inner garden - throw out old beliefs that don't serve you, make a choice to talk in terms of abundance and prosperity mentality vs. lack, really love who you are - love the YOU of you and tune in to your perfect-ness.  Give thanks with joy for the things that you have asked for, even if you don't see them yet.

7.  Tune in.  Take action on what inspires you. Look at your list of goals and see how things are falling into place. Turn your attention to what's feeling good and what's working in your life, and even if it's not working, there is someplace better that the worst place.

8.  Tend a bit more. Meditate, visualize, and daydream. Connect to you Higher Power.  Soak up the joy of being you.

9.  Tune in and do even the little inspirational actions - and if you can't now, write them down. Take huge action on what really gets you excited. Leap a bit if it feels right, follow your intuition.

10.  Tend some more.

11. Tune in some more....

12.  You get the picture...

Have a beautiful week,
